Whenever you open Q, the program checks that the computer on which it is being used is the same as the computer on which it was previously used. If Q detects a hardware change, you will get an error message saying that the license has stopped working because the computer has changed substantially.
Method
There are two situations when this message will appear:
- If you have moved the license from one computer to another in an unauthorized way.
- If you have made substantial changes to your computer (e.g., modifying its hardware or operating system), in such a way that it looks like a new computer to Q (i.e., a false positive). This can also sometimes occur after Windows updates have been applied to your machine.
To resolve this issue, send an email to Q support for assistance, providing as much detail as possible so that we can work out the likely cause and find an appropriate solution.
