This article describes how to use a built-in QScript to reverse the order of the categories in data that you select. In Q, this is available for Pick One and Pick One - Multi questions. This means that the numerical values for the categories in the data will be reversed, and the ordering of the labels in the table will also be reversed. This process will ignore any categories that have been set as Missing Data.
Requirements
A data file loaded in Q with one or more Pick One or Pick One - Multi ordinal scale questions.
Method
To run this QScript:
- Select Automate > Browse Online Library > Preliminary Project Setup > Reverse Scales in Question(s).
- Choose whether you want Q to identify scale questions for you. If you choose No you will be able to select from all questions of the appropriate types.
- Choose which questions you wish to modify from the list presented.
- If there are any Don't Know style categories in the questions that you have selected then you will be asked if you want to include them in the scale reversal. Click No to exclude these categories.
