The table below is a crosstab of a Date question (in the columns) by average satisfaction (a Number question). The average satisfaction is shown twice: once as the raw data and once smoothed. This table shows us that satisfaction in November was lower than satisfaction in the other five months shown, and, also, that December was also lower than the other five months. Although this table shows a different Average in each row, note that the tests of significance are identical (we can see this by the t-Statistic). This is because Q conducts tests using unsmoothed data. Q also allows you to make comparisons with only the previous period. To choose this option, select Compare to previous period in Date questions under Edit > Project Options > Customize > Statistical Assumptions > Test.
