Introduction
In some situations the names of the questions that appear in the blue and brown drop-down menus on the Outputs tab are unhelpful since they don't contain the question number.

Method
The are multiple ways that this can be achieved in Q:
- Obtain a revised data file which has better names in it (i.e., variable labels that contain the variable name or question number).
- Tidy the names in Q by manually editing them in the Variables and Questions tab.
- Make Q display the variable names of the questions in the blue and brown drop-down boxes by selecting Edit > User Options and change the to the How to display questions in lists setting (select either Variable name(s) or Variable names: Question name).
- Run the built-in script to add the variable names and values to labels by selecting Automate > Browse Online Library > Modifying Labels >Add Variable Names and Values to Labels.
